EGYPT: A PRAYER

Mind Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up

into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason

has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let Egypt awake.

( Adapted From Rabindranath Tagore's poem )

According to Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, Minister of defense, Egypt, The army exists to protect the nation, not a regime. So the army had never fired once so far, on its own people.
Question now on India, if we ever have to have a uprising, revolution of this kind against corruption, assumed inheritance of power, what will our Army, Police do?
I think this is worth an answer and a research on its own. Which will also be a measure how independant our institutions are? Or they just stooges with no backbone....
