(1) They are better organized than unprepared villagers, and better at converting an argument to a slogan and cause. Thus able to kill quite mercilessly the few villagers who oppose them. They abduct people from their homes and slaughter, induce terror to silence the opposition.

(2) Just as the taliban had decimated the local leadership, maoists do kill , drive out and threaten the local leadership.

(3) They hide behind human rights to mount ideological political attacks. In an audacious attack on Police, they convinced the villagers to go with a protest, and then attacked the police by hiding in the villagers. Police was guarding a construction site, they counter attacked to save themselves when a couple of them died in spot. The counter attack all became a human rights cause, police were taking the blame. With support of human rights activists, maoists convinced the population that police is attacking them and need to be defeated. With hands tied, police officials managed to establish underhand deals with maoists to save their job. Maoists merrily go collecting money, police look otherways.

How India deals with it ? India is confused and amazed at this phenomena of spontaneous revolution of inspired villagers !!nupurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05205837105196908661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4704148890264843595.post-47640161517821946772010-03-19T03:26:40.471-07:002010-03-19T03:26:40.471-07:00It is a movement inspired by the ideology of Mao Z...It is a movement inspired by the ideology of Mao Zedong.

The ideology of Mao Zedong or the tactic/action/method of Mao Zedong - Which one would be more appropriate ? Perhaps, The distinction of these ideas by some in the left was important in development of leftist literature into marxist revolutions.

It is not the ideology of Mao, it is his success ( Of course Backed by the Russians) of the activism that inspires the ideology of 'maoism' or activist communism.

It may be difficult to get at the maoist ideologues without understanding history and evolution of marxist history( Not history generated by marxists).nupurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05205837105196908661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4704148890264843595.post-3040026697867151512010-03-19T03:05:10.531-07:002010-03-19T03:05:10.531-07:00Dear Raman, this is poor analysis by you.
1- Th...Dear Raman, this is poor analysis by you.

1- The cpiml website was registered by a canadian organization, before it was transferred to Indian names. Maoism is not an indigenous movement. Its arguments are designed to support indegenous people.

It is too difficult to build a small organization with access. The poor can't do anything unless supported with good research, media and finance . Maoists had immense influence at the center, from the very begining. The spontaneous revolution is a smoke screen.

2- Maoism has urban intellectual and organization support, it is just that their military comes from rural areas. It is easy to recruit people in rural areas into militancy.

3- Mao was not a philosopher of the magnitude to inspire all these. Mao was a Russian stooge to begin with. Marxism variants are developed elsewhere even befor stalin, they have rich tradition of intellectual discourse. Even in religious literature, there is marxist slant. Ideas such as Black Liberation theology , though have good arguments in european context, has been rightly accused to be more of marxist ideas than anti racial ideas.

4- There is remarkable similarity of maoist insurgency and islamic insurgency. Horrific prosecution of civilians to induce terror is just one of them. The impossible idea of one ummah in an utopian world is another commonness - They fight with different names with a different historical story. But a national socialist is more likely to support both of these as ideas of liberation.

5. Comrade Prachanda of Nepal couldn't be a lone warrior who managed to defeat Indian intentions, Nepalese govt and then sucks as a third rate administrator.

One needs more information, than buying the ideas of spontaneous revolution of the poor.nupurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05205837105196908661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4704148890264843595.post-10612861364425855462010-03-12T05:01:06.611-08:002010-03-12T05:01:06.611-08:00Sir, The foot solders of both the Al-Quida/Taliban...Sir, The foot solders of both the Al-Quida/Taliban and the Maoist has no much inspired by the logic and reasons of so called ideology. The blind followers of unknown ideology is turning them to extortionists like those militants of North-East India and North West Pakistan(the recently released Sikh youth of NWPak has confirmed it). The end of violence will be extremely violent.Soumitradghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07573887223719192137noreply@blogger.com
