So the US doesn't criticize but acts while India criticizes but does little. I'm looking forward to NSG or RAW doing a special operation some time.

Regarding "The US could conceivably takeout Pakistani nukes and dismember the country for good without putting too many of its troops in harms way."

Such risky action is more in the interests of India. Why doesn't India do it?

I suggest the risk of missing a Pak nuke which could then explode in India or over US interests might be too high.

Also perpetual occupation of a "country" like Pakistan would be even more difficult than subjugating Iraq and Afghanistan.

Regards

PetePetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02624742078679760819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4704148890264843595.post-39423164533787051672009-01-23T03:43:00.000-08:002009-01-23T03:43:00.000-08:00The restraint in the US response to Pakistan’s com...The restraint in the US response to Pakistan’s complicity with the Taliban and Al Qaeda makes a striking contrast to Indian stridency when dealing with Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

Pakistan sponsored terrorism has killed many US citizens including those in the November Mumbai strike. It is killing a lot of allied troops, predominantly US, in Afghanistan. The Taliban has been waging war against allied troops for over 7 years now. Where are their guns and ammunition coming from, if not from Pakistan?

It is likely the Taliban has more training camps in Pakistan than the Kashmiri jihadis. Yet the US response to the terrorism that Pakistan exports is far more muted than the Indian.

US media has never advocated going to war against Pakistan, unlike the relatively rabid Indian media.

The US could conceivably takeout Pakistani nukes and dismember the country for good without putting too many of its troops in harms way. A divide and rule approach against a dismembered Pakistan may well be the need of the hour. Yet Obama is talking about increasing aide to Pakistan? The policy appears short sighted?Vijainder K Thakurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08354186592585940999noreply@blogger.com
